Ted Baker – Animated Elizabeth I Portrait
We were really excited to be approached by the creative team at Ted Baker to create a ‘moving eye’ portrait for a new store opening in Hong Kong.
The portrait of Elizabeth I as a young woman, was to be animated to give the impression that her eyes were following you.
A stock image of the Queen was printed and painted over to give the impression of a real oil painting. Mounted in a bespoke gold frame, it looks like an authentic painting!
The eyes were cut out, manipulated, repainted and mounted behind the portrait on a motor, which gave the eyes a side-to-side motion.
The Queen takes pride of place in the window of the new store and has received great praise.
Such a fun project!
